Hikes and walks

The path to Santiago de Compostela via Vézelay (GR® 654) and the Grande Randonnée trail from Gâtinais to Morvan (GR® 13) cross the village de Cravant and pass 50m from the accommodation, rue de la Poterne and rue d'Orléans, along the town hall.

The Nivernais Canal is 750m from the accommodation, 10 minutes on foot.

The voie verte, a cycle route most often using the towpath of the Nivernais canal, allows you to reach Cravant from Auxerre in the north and Decize in the south. It is part of the Burgundy Bike Tour.

Vitis Vinifera is ideally located to stop for one or more nights during one of your hikes or walks through the Yonne landscapes.

We provide you with IGN maps of the area, plans and books with hiking trails for your walks. You can also go to Cycle Divin for a bike rental or a tour in our vineyards with a guide.

Walk or bike ride in the vineyards

Irancy, the vineyard closest to the accommodation, is home to beautiful winegrowers' houses and the birthplace of the architect Jacques-Germain Soufflot. An orientation table is located at a place called “Le Poteau” which overlooks the town and its vineyard. The village is surrounded by vineyards and cherry orchards, some of which are in the Cravant sector.

Saint Bris le Vineux is based on extraordinary medieval cellars and on its territory are the old quarries of Bailly, which have now become 3.5 ha of cellars at 60 meters underground. Exceptional panorama from the “Douzein” wood orientation table.

Coulanges la Vineuse, on the left bank of the Yonne, is a wine-growing village with an underground network of cellars. The Gallo-Roman site of Escolives-Sainte-Camille bears witness to the presence of wine at this time in our region.

Chitry-le-Fort is a medieval village with its fortified church and surrounded by vineyards and cherry orchards. An orientation table is located on the Courgis road.

Chablis and its vineyards extend over twenty communes, on either side of the Serein valley. The Chablisien has several hiking trails and three orientation tables in the Clos area, in the Lys area and in Courgis on the road coming from Chitry.

Vézelay, its basilica on the eternal hill and stopover for pilgrims on the road to Compostela, has a vineyard located on either side of the Cure. An orientation table is located behind the Sainte Marie-Madeleine basilica.

Tonnerre and Épineuil, made famous by Chevalier d'Eon and Alfred Grévin, are established on hillsides on either side of the Armançon. The hill of Epineuil faces the town of Tonnerre on the right bank of the Armançon.
